Cosina has revealed the discharge date and specs for its new Voigtlander Heliar Basic 50mm F1.5 lens for its VM mount.

The lens’ optical design consists of six parts in three teams. Cosina says the lens, which has a single coating, has been particularly designed to showcase ‘classical reflections that aren’t present in trendy lenses and dares to specific numerous aberrations.’

It options an aperture vary of F1.5 by F16, makes use of a ten-blade aperture diaphragm and has a minimal focusing distance of 50cm (20″), regardless of the on-lens focus markings solely happening to 70cm (27.6″) for the interlocking system when used with rangefinders. Cosina says the handbook focus system makes use of an all-metal helicons unit that ‘produces average torque’ and affords ‘clean focusing.’

Beneath is a small gallery of black-and-white pattern photos, supplied by Cosina:

The lens measures 56.5mm (2.2″) in diameter by 41.9 (1.65″) lengthy and weighs 255g (9oz). Cosina says the Voigtlander Heliar Basic 50mm F1.5 lens will begin transport in September 2021 for ¥90,000 (~$825).
